encoding videos is like giving birth to a twenty-three pound baby mongoose… i’m guessing, at least. honestly, some elements of using computers have been improved (streamlined and made more powerful) since their creation. editing, watching, and encoding videos are not among those elements. there are multiple little sects, all supporting their own favorite styles of encoding… what happened to having a standard? half the videos i import into Sony Vegas won’t work, and i have to reencode them with some 3rd party tool like VirtualDubMod or Avidemux. not sure if i spelled their names right, but oh well. i think we should completely redo videos on the computer, and make one or two formats, the less necessary codecs the better. a mobile format; optimized for memory and power conservation, a desktop format; optimized for quality, etc.

i found this old AMV of mine on my YouTube channel… i guess i never finished it though… now i want to get Premiere on my computer again!

mah newskin lol

i’m working on an IPB skin for Jcink!

OMG

i haven’t posted on here for a long time, so i figured i would add a post or two this week. i’m editing this blog again for school, because we’re talking about WordPress in our Computer Apps class.

over the last year or so i’ve developed some new hobbies, and refreshed some old ones. i’ve started doing more photography (got a new camera), and learned a bit of C++. haven’t read many decent books recently though. i’ve been kind of busy with school.

built a new desktop a while after my last post from 2008, and it runs nicely. i’ve had some issues with my laptop though, which makes having a working desktop great. warranties are great, but when Best Buy sends the laptop into Toshiba, who “fixes it” for free, it always comes back with a separate but equally annoying problem.

okay, so i’ve been programming for PokeSpam, a Pokémon hacking and software development group. i like programming… it gives me a sense of satisfaction because i’ve actually contributed something. PokeSpam are literally the first people in the world so far to have publicly released tutorials in hexadecimal map editing in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. it’s kind of fun.

or, it was kind of fun. that changed fairly quickly when we started getting angry posts on our threads on forums, asking us when our new program would be done. usually they’re fairly insulting, and sometimes vulgar. the most aggravating is when individuals respond telling us, the hand that feeds them admittedly rushed and non-standard software, that we aren’t good “hackers”. see, we don’t need any skill. the real skill comes in when they use the software that we made them, and we researched, and we understand, to make modified versions of the game. except that this is so hard, they have to ask us questions: to be expected, there job is quite difficult, right?

that attitude honestly disgusts me. are you kidding? i mean, for God’s sake, these people have trouble editing rudimentary scripts in a simplified language, where as we have to search through thousands of individual hexadecimal bytes, determine which do what, and then make easy-to-understand software so morons like these people can complain that we don’t have enough work ethic. well, quite obviously… we’re not getting paid for this. nonetheless, we were releasing 1-2 programs a week! well, not anymore.

PokeSpam is still programming, but we’ll only do private releases. we’ll give the software to those we deem worthy, and see how the script kiddies do then (referring to the one person who threatened to hack one of our computers if we didn’t publicly release map data).

yeah, pretty much. i’m posting this at school, so i hope you didn’t expect a Terry Goodkind or anything…

sorry about my last post being deleted. there was a couple reasons for that; in case anyone who didn’t get a chance to read it while it was up wonders, it was about Obama’s “sweetie” (so-called) faux pas. however, i’ve fresh material to write about, thanks to the charitable Bill Gates!

though the idea originally struck me as silly at best, it’s grown on me. in the long run, a $100 dollar laptop is less expensive than books that need to be replaced (all the more so in extreme rural conditions), right? it can be used multiple times, for multiple students… and if made correctly, it’s much more durable. paraphrasing the above with more laconic language, i’m a proponent of the XO and like-minded projects. however, i was slightly disappointed when i learned of the new XO design concept’s dual multi-touch screens! multi-touch screens are neither a perfected technology, nor a reliable one, at this point in time. i can’t grasp how Pixel Qi plans to mass produce multi-touch screens at a lower price than standard hardware.

anyway, though this post definitely lacks for substance, it will do. i may not post a lot the next couple days, or even weeks: i’m pretty busy with finals coming up, etc… thanks for reading!

i’ve served my sentence, but delivered no crime. and bad mistakes, i’ve made a few. i’ve had my share of dirt kicked in my face, but i’ve come through…

well, not only do all good things come to an end, as it turns out, but also all mediocre things. i’ve decided to close down this blog, actually, in case the reader hasn’t already figured that out. it’s not simply that i don’t have the time to maintain this blog, it’s that i simply believe the blog to have played out. that it’s time to move on to something new.

those of whom my most zealous fans are comprised, fear not, for i am not lost to the world of internet rants. and also fear not, for i shall be just as arrogant, fresh, aggravating, and as Hawk often says, strikingly handsome during the course of my projects to come. i am thinking of making a joint political blog, and inviting a few friends, the aforementioned Hawk not excluded. considering my knack for procrastination, only Chuck Norris knows when i shall get around to actually acting on this idea or for that matter several alternative’s i’ve thought of. however, be sure that i eventually shall, for i consider it a challenge to the whole human race, and i never lose.

ew. midterms. school. gradually lowering grades as my experience points raise in varying MMORPGs. i won’t have time to blog, and haven’t had time to blog, as most people notice, for about a month. love delays, right? anyway, i have some spare time right now, and i thought i’d post what’s been going on in my life. that, unfortunately, would be quite a short post. not much news, other than test upon test upon quiz being given. we’re going to start midterms on Monday, and i’m going to be completely redoing my math and Latin notebooks. when i begin writing proofs in a dead language, it will be time to stop studying. anyway, pax sicco.

ah, you have to love an ultra-busy everybody screaming at eachother Christmas, no? but other than that things have been decent. i finally decided to make an AMV to 1985 by Bowling For Soup! it should be finished by the end of the month (hopefully along with LittleKuriboh’s promised). speaking of him, my friend, who has added him on Xbox Live, reports him as almost constantly on Mass Effect or Scene It. though honestly IDK why anyone would play Scene It, i have to admit, i’m not one to criticize the memorization of media, unless i’m becoming a complete hypocrit. just last night i typed out the entirity of American Pie to a friend of mine. why? to prove i could.

short post, i know. sorry.
